The military Valorian

The power of the mercenaries in Valorian under the rule of Neban Mahas is characterized by a strong military presence. Weapons and battle tactics are part of the daily routine for the supporters of the ruler.

Surrounded by protecting walls and watch towers the Valorians are a traditionally military people who trust in intact infrastructures and functional defence. When Iberia was united Valorian was the only fortress against the attacks of the Mu Clan and the Rahu. After the kingdoms were split this concept was continued and elaborated. Agriculture is the most important economy of the country apart from the metal industry .

But the idyllically open fields and the quiet atmosphere are deceptive because the soldiers are always on their guard. The ruler Neban Maha, himself a former soldier and historian, established a powerful infantry which he shaped according to his ideas. That is the reason their enemies fear the Valorians and their battle formations, which literally descend upon their victims.

The centre of the country, Bina, also tells its own story: it was once conquered by Gor and the Valorinas had to demonstrate their claim again. Therefore Bina plays an important key role for the country. However, this was not the only set back for the ambitious Valorians because the open war with Derion only lead to a ceasefire between the rival nations. Since the return of the ruler to his kingdom he is secretly plotting revenge and is preparing the next war against his hated enemy.
